Solaria is the strongest realm in the Otherworld. She is its heir. An extension of that strength.
Solaria is one of the seven realms of the Otherworld. Its sovereign is Queen Luna, whose daughter Stella is the realm's princess and sole heir to the throne. "Solarian" is the realm's denonym.
Overview[]
Solaria is the strongest realm in the Otherworld. Its power is supplied by hydro-energy facilities run by Aisha's parents on the border of Andros. Solaria also has a Capitol with a secure prison to contain powerful threats and enemies of the realm. The Solarian Guard serves as the realm's military, whose responsibilities include moving prisoners to the Capitol or Polaris, as well as eliminating magical threats such as the Burned Ones and Blood Witches.
One of Solaria's crown jewels is the Gateway Ring, which is currently in the possession of Princess Stella. The Royal Archive is a home to a number of other valuable relics, such as the Blood Witch Book and a Convergence Crystal. Artifacts from the Royal Archive can only be retrieved through permission from Queen Luna or another member of the royal family.
Most notably, Solaria is where Alfea College is located, considered to be the best school in the entire Otherworld. Several prominent Solarian figures have graduated from Alfea, Duke Hammerström being one such fairy who perfected the business of thought-based purchasing. Near Alfea are a number of towns and villages, namely Blackbridge and Aster Dell, the latter of which was home to Blood Witches before its destruction.
Background[]
Solaria was one of the realms in the Otherworld that was terrorized by the Burned Ones for millennia. In 2004, a powerful fairy and then-Headmistress of Alfea, Rosalind Hale, was leading the crusade against the Burned Ones with her allies: fairies Farah Dowling and Benjamin Harvey, as well as Specialists Saul Silva and Andreas of Eraklyon. Together, they eliminated many Burned Ones across the realm, but their most notable campaign occurred at the Solarian village of Aster Dell. Burned Ones had surrounded the settlement one winter, which Rosalind discovered to be the home of Blood Witches in possession of an infant girl who had the power of the Dragon Flame. Rosalind withheld this knowledge from her allies, taking the infant girl and placing her in the care of a human couple in the First World. The girl was named by Bloom by her new parents, and roughly around the same time, Rosalind had also taken another infant girl from Aster Dell who would become known as Beatrix. Both girls had visions magically implanted within their minds by Rosalind, who then proceeded with the next phase of her plans.
Seeing an opportunity to destroy both the Burned Ones and the Blood Witches together, Rosalind convinced her allies that she had evacuated Aster Dell in preparation for a magical attack. Saul was able to discover that Rosalind had lied and tried to warn Farah and Ben, but Andreas intervened due to his loyalty towards Rosalind. Saul was forced to stab Andreas with his sword in self-defense, seemingly leaving his friend to die. However, he was too late to reach his allies in time. Rosalind had combined her magic with Farah and Ben's to conjure a powerful lightning storm that completely annihilated Aster Dell, the Burned Ones, and the Blood Witches present in the village. Farah and Ben were later horrified to discover that they had unintentionally killed innocents.
Farah, Saul, and Ben sought the help of Sebastian Valtor to help take down Rosalind and imprisoned her within a stasis in the undercroft beneath Alfea. However, Rosalind was able to save Andreas' life beforehand and had him go into hiding to take care of Beatrix, with the intention of plotting her escape in the future. Farah convinced Queen Luna to cast a magic veil over the ruins of Aster Dell to make it invisible to the outside world. Queen Luna subsequently instated Farah as the new Headmistress of Alfea. No Burned Ones were spotted for the subsequent sixteen years, though they still secretly existed in Solaria.
Fate: The Winx Saga[]
Season 1[]
Season 2[]
Changes from Winx Club[]
In Winx Club , Solaria is a realm of the Magic Dimension that is the home world of Stella . Unlike Fate: The Winx Saga, this version of Solaria is an entire planet on its own and is not geographically linked to the other realms. Its sovereign is King Radius , who is the father of Stella and was formerly married to Queen Luna until they divorced. In the third season , when Valtor absorbed the magic of the Second Sun of Solaria , the realm experienced its first rainfall in history, which was noted to be an unusual occurrence in Solaria.
Trivia[]
- The globe of the Otherworld, which appears in To the Waters and the Wild, shows Solaria and Eraklyon as being separate landmasses connected by an isthmus. This contradicts an infographic released by the show's official Instagram account, which places Solaria and Eraklyon on the same landmass as neighbouring realms, with Linphea being the separate continent connected to them by the isthmus.
